For a one-off review, open a sample report and its Word files. Can you find the source clause, understand the concern and use the proposed wording? A useful result should save you from having to turn a vague warning into a negotiation request yourself.
For a team purchase, use the same fictional or permitted test contract with each vendor. Include a missing attachment, an unclear payment condition and an exception to a liability cap. Write down the issues you expect before testing, then record both missed issues and incorrect warnings.
Finally, compare the cost of the work you expect to do. Include extra reviews, users, integrations and setup where relevant. A low starting price tells you little if the feature you need sits in another plan.
