Practical contract guide

Online contract review before you sign

Upload your contract and see which terms need attention, why they matter, and what you could ask to change. View and download your report on your phone or computer.

See the result before you pay

Open the free sample to read the findings and try the clause adjustment demo. A review of your own contract costs $29, or you can use an existing review credit.

Upload the whole contract at once

For a PDF or Word contract, choose one complete file with all its pages. You don’t need to upload each page separately. Include the order form, statement of work and schedules that belong to the agreement.

For a paper contract, select up to 10 JPG or PNG photos. You can add them together or in batches, then put them in reading order. The 10-photo limit applies to images, not to the pages inside a PDF or Word file. Keep the total upload within 50 MB.

From upload to suggested changes

  1. Check the text we’ve read. Make sure all pages are there. Correct unclear names, dates and amounts, especially in scans and photos.
  2. Tell us which side you’re on. Choose the contract type, your role and report language. Enter the governing law or your location if you know it, or use automatic detection.
  3. Start the review. Sign in and check your available credits. The analysis usually takes a few minutes; longer documents and unclear scans can take more time.
  4. Read the findings. Start with the priorities, then work through the full report. Each finding lets you consider the quoted wording, the concern and the proposed change.
  5. Adjust a recommendation if needed. Ask for a change to that finding, review the new wording and save the version you want to download.

Choose the file for your next step

Read the PDF report

View the full analysis on the website or download it to keep. It explains the findings and may include private negotiation options.

Prepare with the Word memo

Keep your requests, reasons and fallback positions in an editable document. This is for your own preparation; read it carefully before sharing outside your team.

Check the Word redline

Open the proposed edits and comments in a compatible document editor. Review the changes before sending them to the other party.

Use your phone or computer

Both can view and download the files. You can preview them on the website; editing a downloaded Word document needs a compatible editor.

If a download won’t start inside an app’s built-in browser, open the page in your regular browser and try again. The on-page previews are also available.

Want to change just one clause?

You don’t have to settle for the first suggested wording. In the public demo, a consultant asks to shorten an acceptance deadline. You can follow the request, compare the revised suggestion and save a demo version.

Common questions

Do I need an app?

You can upload the agreement and read the report in your browser. To edit downloaded Word files, use a compatible document editor.

Can I review a contract for free?

The public sample and manual checklist are free. Reviewing your own agreement uses a paid review credit.

What if the other party sends a new version?

Upload the new document when you want it analyzed. Changing a recommendation in an existing report does not review a different file or automatically compare the two versions.

What happens to the document I upload?

The document is sent for processing. Read our privacy policy for how your information is handled, and make sure you’re allowed to upload the agreement.

Ready to check your agreement?

Bring the whole document, including its schedules. You can inspect a complete sample report first.

One review costs $29, or you can use an existing credit. The sample report is free to view.
